Drybrook RFC is thrilled to confirm the leadership group that will guide our Ladies' squad into the upcoming 2026–2027 campaign. Following a tremendous bounce-back season, the club is locking in the key figures off the pitch to push for ultimate success next year.

As seen in the accompanying graphic, the management and coaching structure is set to maintain great continuity while driving higher standards.

The Leadership Team

  • Team Manager: Lucie Smith Returning for an incredible 14th year running, Lucie praised the squad's immense resilience following a previous demotion. Reflecting on a hard-fought season, she noted: "Coming into this season was always going to be difficult. But not for this team. We worked harder than ever before... It really played off coming 3rd in the league."

  • Head Coach: James Smith James is locked in for the 2026–2027 season after steering the team to an impressive 3rd-place finish. While proud of the squad's achievements, James is already focused on the future: "Finishing 3rd in the league is something every single player, coach, and supporter should be proud of... We need to be fitter, stronger and more bonded as a squad. The work starts now."

  • Backs Coach: Matt Carter Also returning for the 2026–2027 season, Matt is eager to build on a turbulent but highly promising first year where player attendance fluctuated between 6 and 22. Looking ahead, Matt shared: "I’m already looking forward to working harder this season and taking like the players enjoyed themselves. I can't wait to ingrain in them over the 26/27 season."

The Goal: Next Season... 1st Place!

With the foundation firmly laid, the message from the entire coaching staff is clear: One Club. One Squad. One Standard. Let's build on it.

After proving they can challenge the top two sides in the competition, the squad has set its sights firmly on the ultimate prize for the 26/27 campaign. The mission is simple: 1st Place and a return to Championship 2—back where we belong!
